These are individual layered tiles, not a stack of solid-colour sheets. The coloured surface and black base are considered together when specifying the finished product. Request a sample to confirm colour, texture and the actual layer arrangement before ordering.

Thickness is not a fall-height certificate

25mm and 50mm are available options, not universal safety ratings. Equipment fall height, the installed surface system and applicable project requirements must be checked. Request the relevant impact-test evidence for the exact proposed product and build-up.

Do not assume that selecting the thicker tile alone establishes compliance. For a public or school playground, coordinate the surfacing brief with the equipment supplier and project professional.

Edges, drainage and maintenance

Review base levels, water outlets, surrounding paths and the transitions around every edge. An outdoor surface needs a drainage plan below and around it; a rubber finish does not repair a poorly graded base.

Include inspection of joints, lifting edges, worn areas and debris in the maintenance plan. If a continuous surface is preferred, compare a specified EPDM wear layer over a suitable impact base.
